Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom has reportedly exited the upcoming survival thriller Reset, in which he was set to star opposite Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Bloom had been involved with the project during pre-production and was expected to co-produce the film through his banner Amazing Owl, alongside Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures. According to a report by TMZ, Bloom left the project shortly before filming was scheduled to begin, creating uncertainty for the production team. His association with Chopra Jonas had reportedly helped the independent film attract financing and was expected to support its efforts to secure international distribution. The production is now considering three actors as potential replacements, with a decision expected soon to avoid delays to the filming schedule. Directed by Matt Smukler, Reset centres on a woman, played by Chopra Jonas, who wakes up in a remote wilderness with no memory of how she got there. Cut off from civilisation and struggling to survive, she becomes dependent on a seemingly charming stranger, while gradually questioning whether he can be trusted. The film is being produced by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber under Fratricidal Films, along with Michael Lazarovitch for Chemically Altered and Matthew Rhodes of Rhodes Entertainment. Nadine de Barros serves as executive producer. Bloom’s reported departure marks a significant casting change for the project as the filmmakers work to maintain the planned production timeline.
