The 10th edition of the Northeast International Fashion Week (NEIFW) concluded with a strong focus on sustainability, climate awareness, and the promotion of Northeast India’s rich handloom and handicraft traditions.
Held under the theme “Save the Earth, Style the Future,” the event brought together fashion designers, models, industry professionals, and creative talents from across India and neighbouring countries. The showcase highlighted the role of fashion in promoting environmental responsibility while blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
Organised by Kreative People and led by fashion designer and choreographer Prasantt Ghosh, the event featured collections inspired by the region’s indigenous textiles and cultural heritage. Designers from Assam, Manipur, Delhi, West Bengal, and other regions participated, along with international participants from Nepal. Mumbai-based designers Felix Bendish and Sakshi Bindra also presented their latest creations.
The 10th edition also honoured personalities who have contributed to the growth of the fashion industry in Northeast India. Award recipients included actors, designers, fashion promoters, educators, choreographers, make-up artists, and photographers for their contributions to the creative sector.
The event provided a platform for emerging designers, models, and creative professionals to connect with wider markets while promoting Northeast handloom and handicrafts on national and international platforms.
Since its inception, NEIFW has dedicated each edition to a social cause, addressing themes such as environmental conservation, organ donation, and support for senior citizens. Over the years, the platform has also encouraged cultural exchange by hosting participants from countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia.
