Preity Zinta, Roopali Ganguly, and Ricky Kej Join New Central Board of Film Certification

The Union government has reconstituted the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with immediate effect, appointing a fresh 18-member panel for a three-year term or until further orders. The newly appointed board features prominent actors and industry personalities, including Preity Zinta, Pankaj Tripathi, Suniel Shetty, Roopali Ganguly, and Pallavi Joshi, the latter of whom is an actor-producer and wife of outgoing board member Vivek Agnihotri. Among the other notable figures named to the panel are filmmakers Priyadarshan, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Nila Madhab Panda, along with actor Manoj Joshi, writer Yatindra Mishra, film critic Vinod Anupam, Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej, and singer-politician Hansraj Hans. Theatre director Waman Kendre and writer Ramesh Patange stand out as the only two members retained from the previous board, which was originally constituted in August 2017 and had continued to operate beyond its initial three-year tenure prior to this official overhaul.
