Actor Rupert Grint is set to reprise his iconic role as Ron Weasley in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Nearly two decades after the beloved film franchise began, the 38-year-old star will join the long-running New York production for a limited 17-week engagement starting in February 2027. Reflecting on his return, Grint shared that stepping back into the role as a fellow father feels like a “full-circle” moment that is both familiar and completely new. Grint follows in the footsteps of former co-star Tom Felton, who recently played Draco Malfoy in the stage show. Producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender noted that Grint’s involvement creates a powerful bridge between the original beloved story and the stage play’s themes of family and legacy. Since its 2016 premiere in London, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has become a massive international success, with the Broadway production grossing over $532 million. This engagement marks a major Broadway return for Grint, who previously made his stage debut in 2014’s It’s Only a Play, following a steady post-Potter career in film and television including Knock at the Cabin and Ebenezer.
