Preity Zinta Criticizes Paparazzi for Following Her; Prioritizes Children’s Privacy

Bollywood actress Preity Zinta has expressed strong reservations regarding the intrusive nature of modern paparazzi culture, describing some of its practices as “scary” and “unnerving.” The actress, known for her candid nature, shared her thoughts during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on her X handle, where she addressed queries about fame, privacy, and her personal life.

Responding to a netizen who asked how she balances fame with peace of mind, the Veer-Zaara star emphasized that she has learned to manage expectations but maintains strict boundaries regarding her private life. While she expressed gratitude for the love she receives from fans, Zinta made it clear that her children’s privacy is non-negotiable. She stated that she finds it highly uncomfortable when the media attempts to photograph her children without permission.

Zinta explained that she is generally cooperative when approached politely at public events, recognizing it as part of the job. However, she expressed deep discomfort with being followed, ambushed, or having photographers hide outside her residence or gym. She noted that while she understands some actors invite paparazzi to stay in the public eye, that is not how she chooses to operate. “I’m also human, and I need to stay grounded and have my downtime,” she explained, adding that the lack of respect for her personal space is what she finds unsettling.

Despite these challenges, the actress remains positive about her professional journey. She continues to be an active part of the film industry and is currently gearing up for her next project, Lahore 1947. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan’s production banner, the highly anticipated film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 13. Zinta’s comments have since sparked a broader conversation online about the ethics of paparazzi journalism and the right to privacy for public figures and their families.
